The InfoVan is essentially a traveling Information
and Assistance center. The purpose of the InfoVan is to provide information
about services and programs to seniors, adults with disabilities, and
their caregivers at locations throughout the planning and service area.
The AAA Outreach Coordinator coordinates the InfoVan schedule and keeps
it supplied with an array of useful information and educational tools.
The InfoVan is able to reach out to rural areas, and has a television
on board to show educational videos.
The InfoVan was originally made possible through the Community Outreach
for Independent Living (COIL), a project funded by a Long-Term Care Innovation
Grant, administered by the California Department of Aging. The purpose
of COIL was to help California's diverse aging population and those with
disabilities to live independently as long as possible.
