Issues

The Napa/Solano Area Agency on Aging believes that every person matters. Unfortunately, the inherent value and immense contributions of older and disabled adults in our community are too often overlooked. From isolation to scams, accessibility barriers to stigma, these groups face immense obstacles.

Our agency is dedicated to recognizing and tackling these challenges. Guided by state agencies, informed by advisory groups and backed by years of experience assisting real people, we are well-prepared to champion this cause.

Research and resources are compiled below to help you better understand the issues. Join us in our mission to find and implement solutions.

Run for the California Senior Legislature

The California Senior Legislature (CSL) gives older adults a direct voice in shaping policies that affect aging Californians. Through a local election process administered by the Napa/Solano Area Agency on Aging, eligible residents age 55 and older may run to represent their community as Senior Senators or Senior Assemblymembers. These volunteer leaders bring forward local aging priorities, develop legislative proposals and work closely with state lawmakers. Supporting CSL elections aligns with the Agency’s mission to elevate older adult voices, encourage civic engagement and ensure Napa and Solano seniors help inform decisions that impact their independence, health and quality of life statewide.

Completed election packets must be submitted to the Napa/Solano Area Agency on Aging by March 31, 2026.
